Dr Mamoun Alazab is Associate Professor at CDU’s College of Engineering, IT and Environment. He received his PhD in Computer Science from the Federation University of Australia, School of Science, Information Technology and Engineering. He is a cyber security researcher and practitioner with industry and academic experience.

Mamoun’s research is multidisciplinary and focuses on cyber security and digital forensics of computer systems, cybercrime detection and prevention and cyber terrorism and cyber warfare. He has authored more than 100 research papers and has delivered many invited and keynote speeches—22 events in 2018 alone. He has convened and chaired more than 50 conferences and workshops.

Mamoun works closely with government and industry on many projects. Recipients include the Northern Territory Department of Information and Corporate Services, IBM, Trend Micro, the Australian Federal Police, the Australian Communications and Media Authority, Westpac, United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, and the Attorney-General’s Department. Dr Mamoun Alazab is a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and the Founder and Chair of the Northern Territory branch of the IEEE.
